Podcasting – Hear you later

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by blogwalker on 05-11-2006

podcast.jpgI’m really excited about a current project – Youth Radio – that connects students across the nation via a blog, with the main focus being podcasting. Students want to talk to students. It’s that simple. Students in Jim Faires’s class at Butler Elementary School in Elk Grove, California, have connected with Jason Shiroff’s kids in Colorado, Betty Colum’s kids in Eupora, Mississippi, and Kevin Hodgson’s kids in western Massachusetts via podcasting. The podcasts are great and hint at the possibilities for taking students beyond the classroom walls. One of the Mississippi students ended a written comment with “hear you later.”

Hey, I discovered the new themes while updating my Edublogs handout. Despite a few of those buggy issues, I really appreciate that James Farmer keeps going back to the drawing board, keeps us posted on changes/updates, and has added more features. Love the spellcheck and also the option to add padding around uploaded images!
